  Apparently you aren't open til 9pm on Thursdays! Change your hours so they make sense please!

  I had to think for a bit about whether i would give a 2 or a 1 but i wanted to be fair even though my exprience was horrible. I went in with my friend, I had just picked him up from work, and since he was 18 i told him in Ontario "dont touch anything". I read the little sign that said "If youre under 19 you cant handle alcohol, if you are with a minor use a basket or ask for assitance. We both are respective of policies so I grabbed a basket and told him to look and not touch and that is what he did. I was purchasing alcohol for a party and went because it was getting too late to purchase because of the stores horrendous hours. Now, I had over 100 dollars of merchandise ready to go. I get to the counter and the old man, didnt grab his name because I was so shocked, asked for both our IDs. I polietly told him i was the one making the purchase, my friend never touched the alcohol and we followed all the rules instated by the Under Age Prevention Act that LCBO has "Dont swap money with a minor, dont talk like your purchasing for a minor, dont let a minor touch the alcohol" and so on. The old man rudely questioned my intentions with no reasoning behind it, borderline harrassing me about it, saying because he was with me he needed both of our IDs or he wouldnt serve me. He then asked my friend to "tell him the truth" (very unprofessional if i might add) on whether he would be drinking any of it and he said no, because he wasnt because he had work the next day. I reiterated that I hadnt done anything wrong and followed all the rules, i even got a basket so he wouldnt carry any of it, but he still refused service under no grounds. Now im a reasonable man, if i broke any of their rules I would say no problem I wont purchase it I respect your rules and respect you have to enforce them, but I didnt do anything to warrant that. That old man made me feel like a criminal for something i never had intentions on doing, and was rude about it. I work in the service industry, so I know enforcing rules is a must, but when I follow all the procedures and you still refuse me, im calling it prejudice, unprofessional and downright wrong. Maybe because I look younger than 25? Maybe because I had alot of alcohol? Or maybe just because he wanted to, it doesnt matter. I felt prejudiced against. I hope that man, if he reads this, or if management read this, learn not to prejudice like this, because i have every reason justifiable to bring this higher.

  Good selection for such a small LCBO! The hours of operation could be better though. That's the reason for me not giving 5 stars. I guess that's what you get for a small town like Embrun.
